Resolved Question: cheap but fun vacation destinations near Kentucky?

My hubby and I cant do our usual vacay this year in southern florida but we are really tight on money. I would still like to do some kind of a 3 or 4 day trip somewhere. We live in the Lexington Ky area and are looking for ideas for a fun getaway fro this summer. Any ideas??? Thanks so far. I would love to find a great swimming lake where we can rent a cabin right on the lake. Trails nearby would be awesome too. Any certain areas you recommend? I am fairly new to the area.
